Stay
The Most Romantic Hotel in Lake Como
An idyllic escape along the shores of Lake Como, this sanctuary gathers timeless grandeur and restoring seclusion.
The Historic Villa
Arriving at Passalacqua feels like stepping into a grander era where time gracefully alters. Secluded within the quiet lakeside village of Moltrasio, this eighteenth-century estate has been restored as an intimate retreat with only twenty-four standalone suites. Every corner of the main palazzo exudes a quiet, historic allure, offering a beautiful balance between exquisite heritage preservation and an understated, slow-paced atmosphere meant for intended reflection.
The Bellini Suite
Serving as the villa’s undisputed centerpiece, the Bellini Suite unfolds across 2,700 square feet of historic opulence. Once the personal sanctuary of composer Vincenzo Bellini, where he penned his opera Norma, the double-height vaulted ceilings rise above walls adorned with soft and beautifully preserved frescoes, whilst grand Murano glass chandeliers cast a flickering glow over the furnishings. Large, elegant windows flood the rooms with soft daylight, framing uninterrupted views of the cascading grounds and the lake beyond.
The Wellness Greenhouse & Spa
Concealed within the foundations of the Palazzo building lies the spa area, offering a sanctuary of relaxation that can be reached via a discreet staircase and a three-hundred-year-old stone tunnel. Outside, a striking indoor swimming pool is housed within a historic nineteenth-century greenhouse, featuring a joyful design, created in collaboration with the Milanese fashion house La DoubleJ. Swimming here allows you to remain entirely embraced by warmth and beauty, listening to the gentle echoes of water whilst gazing out at the lush canopy of the surrounding grounds.
The Terrace Lunch
Dining at Passalacqua is a slow and beautifully curated experience, served al fresco on a pristine stone terrace looking out over the terracotta roofs of Moltrasio. Led by celebrated chef Viviana Varese, the menu delivers exceptionally light, fresh dishes that honor traditional Italian flavours using the finest regional ingredients.
The Lakeside Gardens
There is great joy to be found in losing yourself along the hotel’s historic terraced gardens. Cascading gracefully down the hillside toward the quiet margins of Lake Como, these green tiers offer an authentic sanctuary of privacy and restoring seclusion. Walking past the structured topiary, ancient stone steps, and quiet overlooks, you are welcomed into a wonderfully calm setting where the slow rhythm of nature and the still waters of the lake meet in perfect harmony.
